Course of Study opportunity: Exploring Nazarene History and Polity will be taught by Dr. Scott Porter at the Northlake Boulevard Church of the Nazarene in a series of 3 on-site classes, and will include required out-of-classroom coursework as well.
The three dates are Saturdays, October 8, November 19, and December 3, 2016.
This course is specifically designed for the person entering pastoral ministry. However, it would benefit anyone who will be employed by the church or who desires an understanding of the Church of the Nazarene, its history, membership, and how it operates. History and Polity of the Church of the Nazarene is a prerequisite and foundation for ministry in the Church of the Nazarene. The course is designed to produce understanding of the identity of the Church, the definition and requirements of membership, and how the Church operates as local, district and general church.
The required texts for the class are MANUAL, Church of the Nazarene, 2013-2017. Kansas City, MO: Nazarene Publishing House, 2013 and Tracy, Wes & Stan Ingersol. Here We Stand: Where Nazarenes Fit in the Religious Marketplace. Kansas City, Mo: Nazarene Publishing House, 1999.
The cost is $90 and the deadline for registration is October 5.
