Southern Florida Nazarenes pray and fast. Many will complete the Daniel Fast, our annual way to bring in the New Year. We’ve had Prayer Initiatives for the past seven years. We began Prayer Summits in 2007. We have always tried to keep urgent prayer requests before our pastors and people. The monthly Prayer Initiative has given teaching on prayer, a list of churches and pastors, and special needs and requests for our prayer partners. Our goal has been that our churches and pastors be lifted up to the throne of grace on a daily basis. This will continue.
A mechanism to allow our members and friends to give prayer requests was impossible until now. Our Webmaster, Pastor John Weller, proposed the idea of a District Prayer Wall. We have a will and now there is a way. We’re calling it “iPray.” It launches tomorrow, January 19, 2013. Attendees at the Prayer and Missional Summit will be the first to see it. We will dedicate it to God there. As you might guess, there are some rules and regulations for it, maybe we should say procedures for posting requests. But it is really quite simple.

The Jews in Jerusalem have the “Wailing Wall.” I visited there in 1992 and placed a request in a crevice at the wall. But now, Southern Florida Nazarene members and friends have a Prayer Wall, a place where they can seek prayer for a multitude of needs. In this digital world, SFD Nazarenes can visit our website and pray for brothers and sisters. There will even be a place to post answers to prayer that we all may praise The Lord for what He is doing. The “House of Prayer” we are building now has a new wall.
