In order to make this important quadrennial event accessible to those who cannot attend, General Assembly worship services and plenary meetings will be live streamed at nazarene.org/GAlive.
One of the most popular events at General Assembly is the Sunday morning corporate worship service. Times for select service points are as follows:
- 10 a.m. Service begins (greeting, worship, etc.)
- 10:20 a.m. Opening prayer
- 10:30 a.m. Video
- 10:35 a.m. Scripture readings
- 10:40 a.m. Announcements
- 10:50 a.m. Offering
- 11:00 a.m. Sermon (Acts 1:1-9 “The Promises of Pentecost”)
- 11:45 a.m. Communion
- 12:10 p.m. Benediction
(All times listed in Eastern Daylight Time.)
In addition to live streaming, some events will be recorded and posted for later viewing. After the conclusion of an event, staff members will work diligently to post footage as soon as possible.
General Assembly is the “supreme doctrine-formulating, lawmaking, and elective authority of the Church of the Nazarene” (Manual, 300). The assembly and auxiliary conventions (Nazarene Missions International, Nazarene Youth International, and Sunday School and Discipleship Ministries International) convene every four years, bringing together Nazarenes from around the globe. The 2013 event will take place from June 19 to 27. For all General Assembly information, see the event’s website at www.nazarene.org/ga.
