A capacity crowd gathered at Fort Myers First on Friday evening, September 14th for the Annual SDMI Convention. Dr. David Graves was our speaker. Ted Underwood, SDMI Chairman, reported that this has been another excellent year of growth for our District SDMI. Our Responsibility List grew from 15,061 to 16,076, an increase of 1,015 (+6.7%). Sunday School attendance was up from 8,923 to 9,920, an increase of 997 or 11.1%. Ted reported that we came only short of having 1,000 increase in both categories. He congratulated our pastors and churches for these great gains! 53 of our 86 organized churches showed gains in either Responsibility List, Sunday School average attendance or both.

Attendance Top Ten Percentage Gain: West Palm Beach Betel-575%; Fort Lauderdale Spanish-162%; Miami Calvary-124%; Delray Beach Unitee Haitian-89%; Miami Holy Haitian-88%; Naples First-81%; Miami Peniel-78%; Arcadia First- 75%; Indiantown Evangelical- 72%; and Jesus Mi File Amigo-63%.
Fourteen of our churches are Honor Churches-a 1%-9% increase in both Responsibility List and Average Attendance: Arcadia First: Bradenton First; Englewood; Fort Lauderdale Faith; Miami Emanuel; Miami First; Miami Holy; Miami Peniel; Naples First; Naples First Hispanic; North Miami Haitian; Pahokee First Hispanic; Palm City New Hope Fellowship; and Port St. Lucie Evangelical.
Eight of our churches are Superior Churches- 10%-49% increase in both Responsibility List and Average Attendance: Fort Lauderdale First; Fort Myers Solid Rock; Fort Pierce First Haitian; Fort Pierce Philadelphia; North Port; Port Charlotte Genesis Christian; Port St. Lucie; and Redland.
Three of our churches are Exceptional Churches- over 50% increase in both Responsibility List and Average Attendance: Delray Beach Unitee Haitian; Goulds First; and West Palm Beach Iglesia.
Following an excellent report the delegates gave a unanimous renewal vote to our Chairman, Ted Underwood. Congratulations Ted and may this new year be a year of forward thrust in evangelism, teaching and discipleship.
