The Southern Florida W&W team made it to Haiti without difficulties on Saturday, Jan. 4. We then took a school bus to Gros-Morne about 100 miles north of Port-au-Prince – of which the final 25 miles was essentially over a dry river bed.
We had a nice meal waiting on us and we got a good night’s rest.
We attended the beautiful Gros-Morne Church of the Nazarene. Dr. Nixon was the special speaker for the three hour service (see photo). There was a tremendous response to his sermon. Our team gathered around all those who responded for a final prayer (see photo).
We also discovered a new reason to attend church in Haiti: It provides an excellent place to recharge your cell phone or even your house phone (see photo).
During the Sunday morning service a 50 member band played for us. The band leader (shown in the photo with some of our team members in the background) has an amazing story. He is not only a former voodoo priest, but he was on the executive committee as secretary of the local voodoo organization. But through the Gros-Morne church he was wonderfully saved. He now trains students in a beginners band, leads the church band and also serves on the church board!
but it is necessary to be very attentive what to rumple who it and whether there can be this person a swindler. after all and such happens. you don’t need which counterfeit production too much. simply it costs strongly cheaper.
