I just spent the last 20 hours with some of the finest church leaders I’ve met. Several members of the Florida Wesleyan Holiness Consortium were hosted by the Southern Florida District Church of the Nazarene and Lake Placid Camp & Conference Center for one of several meetings planned to celebrate our common theological heritage and to pray and plan for collaborative ministry efforts in days ahead in the State of Florida. Our thanks to Anthony Haney for a great, passionate tour of the conference facilities! Pictured here (left to right), on the grounds of the conference center are Patrick Styers – district superintendent of the Wesleyan Church of Florida, Bob Watson – Salvation Army, myself, Larry Dennis – DS of the Florida District Church of the Nazarene, Steve Gober — VP of Asbury Seminary (Dunnam campus), and Salvation Army Commissioner Bill Francis. Not pictured, but also participating in the meeting was Darrell Riley — Superintendent of the Southeast Region of the Free Methodist Church. Our meeting time allowed for us to get to know each other and our organizations better, explore current ministry opportunities, brainstorm and dream together for the future, and pray for each other and our ministries. We concluded our meeting encouraged, enthused and optimistic about the ways in which God might use our church organizations in united ways in the years to come. May God be honored as we serve Him together in pursuit of the mission of Christ!
